Camp Invention (1st-6th grade)

Little Scholar’s Summer Camp (ages 3-12)
Summer Camp for Academically Talented Students (6th- 8th grade), WKU. Jun. 10-20. Class offerings in a wide range of topics from humanities to math & science. $1,800 residential (includes all activities, meals, housing), $900 non-residential (includes activities, weekday lunches, dinner and dance on last Thursday). Each group functions as an acting troupe. They build their own props, do scenic painting, sound, lighting, costuming and act in a play. Students ages 10-15 will take part in learning aircraft instruments, engine & aircraft design, use of aeronautical maps, navigation, flight planning, weather, careers, communications, glider competition, practicing take=offs & landings on a flight simulator and the students will actually assist in flying a Cessna 172 with an FAA Certified Flight Instructor. * Financial Aid: Please call Tabbatha Whittinghill, Airport Operations Assistant at 270-842-1101 if you require financial aid in order for your son/daughter to attend aviation camp. CAMP DATES: Session 1 June 4-8; Session 2 June 11-15; Session 3 June 18-22; Session 4 June 25-29; Session 5 July 2-6 (NO CAMP July 4, Holiday); Session 6 July 9-13; Session 7 July 16-20; Session 8 July 23-27; Session 9 July 30-August 3. Camp activities start at 9am although campers may arrive as early as 7:30am. Camp activities end at 3:30pm however, campers may be picked up until 4:30pm. COSTS: $125.00 per child, per session. ABOUT CAMP: Camp Big Red has been hosted WKU IM Rec Sports Department for the last 18 years. Camp Big Red is for children between the ages of 6 and 12 years old. Our camp allows campers to experience positive group interactions in a safe and fun environment. Registration for current WKU Faculty/Staff/Students begins April 6, 2012. Registration opens to WKU Alumni and the general public on April 9, 2012.
