The mission of Bowling Green Parent is to promote involved parenting by being a localized source of information for families in South Central Kentucky. Each issue contains articles relevant to our children’s well-being. The articles we publish are not advertorials paid for by local businesses, but are carefully selected informational articles, written by diverse local experts including the schools, the health department, volunteer agencies, and the library. These topics are all oriented towards improving the lifestyle of the family. A quarterly family friendly calendar of events and activities is paired with topics including child-related issues, ideas and opinions, things to do, local health and wellness concerns, childcare and education. Our writers and contributors are local… your friends, your neighbors, your most reliable sources for trustworthy information.
We distribute 10,000 copies of our magazine monthly in more than 200 family friendly locations in the Bowling Green, Warren, Allen, Simpson, Edmonson, Barren, and Hart County areas. Shaun Curtis graduated from Greenwood High School and WKU. He received a degree in Pharmacy at Sanford University in Alabama. In his free time Shaun enjoys golf and watching football. Shaun is the Pharmacist Manager at Sheldon’s Pharmacy. Drs. Randy and Erin Elliott are a husband and wife team practicing pediatric dentistry. Angie Anderson has been in education for 18 years, 17 teaching social studies and 15 of those have been at her alma mater, Warren East High School. This is her first year as a guidance counselor.
Chrissy Anderson is a new owner of Jack & Jill’s Children’s Consignment in Bowling Green, specializing in the the best gently used items for children at affordable prices.
Karla Andrew is a work at home computer geek/nerd mom with three boys ranging in age from 2 to 18. She authors the blog Tech Ed 4 Kids (http://teched4kids.com) and is a partner with Bowling Green Savings and Poor House Princess in BG Couponers (http://bgcouponers.com). As our family begins the odyssey to pay for college while dealing with preschool every bit of savings helps. Karla also is an instructor at WKU and is currently teaching mobile app development. Mandy Hicks Baker has been the Director of Volunteering and Brand Management for United Way of Southern Kentucky since March 2008. Mandy is a proud Western Kentucky University alumni and has a true passion for the Southern Kentucky community. When she is not watching UK dominate in basketball, she can be found enjoying a glass of Chardonnay with good friends or playing fetch with her Humane Society mutt, Jacey.
Andy Bean graduated from Texas Tech University in May of 2011 with a Masters in Sports Management. While in Texas he was a graduate assistant in the Athletic Marketing and Promotions department. Currently he is employed at WKU as an Athletic Marketing intern and is heading up the Big Red’s Rascals kid’s club among other responsibilities for the 2011-12 WKU athletic year.
Allison Bemiss served nearly 10 years in education as a teacher and consultant before becoming a stay at home mother. She is proud to be called mom by two precious little boys, Elijah and Jonah. Among Allison’s favorite things are reading, writing, and listening to some good ‘ole fashion vinyl records with her husband, Daniel.
Dana O’Meallie Bennett is a Registered Dietitian and Lactation Counselor at the Allen County Health Department. Dana says she “was born on my due date making up for it ever since.” She and husband Jim moved to Bowling Green in 1996, and have embraced the beautiful area since the drive eastward on I-64. Dana says she loves food, and loves when people breastfeed.
Susan Bennett is the Baroness of Books at Potter Gray School. She is a Bowling Green native and College High grad. Her Ladyship earned a B.S. at Ohio U., and an M.S at U.K. and has been at Potter Gray for eighteen years. Susan is married to Ron Bennett and has two grown (so they think!) children who live in North Carolina.
Allison Bemiss and David Baxter are members of the faculty at the GEMS Academy and both completed their Gifted Endorsements through WKU.
Holly Berger is a Junior at Western Kentucky University, pursuing a double major in Theatre and Business Administration. She loves acting, singing, dancing, and being onstage and is thrilled to spread the word about the WKU Department of Theatre and Dance.
Felicia Bland is the Public Relations Liaison and Outreach Coordinator for Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana in Bowling Green. Felicia has been with Girl Scouts for over 11 years. When not at work, she teaches Spiritual Mime and Dance for several churches locally and statewide. She has one daughter, Kerprecia, who attends Bowling Green High School.
Julie Roberts Boggess is an elementary librarian at Pearre Creek Elementary School in Williamson County, TN. She enjoys working with elementary and middle school students in Saturday and summer programs offered by The Center for Gifted Studies at WKU. Julie has earned multiple degrees from WKU. She lives in Tennessee with her husband, Mark, and her delightful daughter, Claire.

Erika Brady teaches in the Department of Folk Studies and Anthropology at WKU, and is the senior producer/host of the radio program Barren River Breakdown on WKU Public Radio.
Jennifer L. Brinkley is an Assistant Warren County Attorney. She is a District Court Prosecutor, and her duties include prosecuting misdemeanor criminal offenses, mental health cases, traffic cases, and juvenile public offenses. Selia Brooks is the Building Supervisor and a Head Start Center manager in Warren County. She graduated from the University of Kentucky, and is currently working toward her masters in early childhood education. She has worked at Community Action of Southern Kentucky for over four and a half years.
Marissa Brown works in Domestic Affairs and Management (stay at home mother) for the Brown household. She and husband John have two toddlers 14 mos. apart. In her free time, Marissa expresses her creativity through her business Swanky Soirees – helping people make every event special.
Jennifer Bryant has been the executive director of The Symphony at WKU since 2009. She has worked in nonprofit fundraising and administration for the past fifteen years. Jennifer is a Bowling Green native and University of Louisville graduate. She is married to Jason Bryant and they have two children Lincoln and Kelly Neal.
Christy Bryce is a School Psychologist in Warren County Schools. She spends her days experiencing life with her untiring, endearing husband and entertaining, vivacious children. Her personal endeavors include serving on the Board of the Family Enrichment Center striving to prevent child abuse; reading with her book club; and spending time with her family.
Bob Bubnis is the father of three great musicians and one comedian. He works at the National Corvette Museum as editor of their member magazine and is the co-author of the Hallmark book, Angels All Around.”
In addition to being the mommy of Ramsey (age 1) and wife of Shane, Marissa Butler serves as Public Relations Director at the Bowling Green Area CVB.
Dr. Diana Cavanah M.D. works in the Allergy / Immunology Department of Graves Gilbert Clinic in Bowling Green. Dr. Cavanah earned her degree from the University of Missouri and conducted her post-graduate training at the University of Iowa hospitals.
Laura Childers is the publicity chair for Lil’ Angels Attic. The bi-annual event is a ministry of Broadway United Methodist Church, offering quality children’s clothing and toys as well as maternity and infant clothes and accessories. Profits from the sale are donated to local charities and ministries that benefit children and families in our community, with over $500,000 in cash and merchandise being donated since 2002.
Teresa Christmas is the owner and operator of Art Matters, a community art studio and gallery offering art classes, exhibits and special events. She has a background in early childhood education from Pacific Oaks College, a masters degree in art education from WKU and has been the artist in residence for Cumberland Trace Elementary for ten years.
Theresa Clark is the Senior Research Analyst in the office of Development and Alumni Relations at Western Kentucky University. She is been in this position for almost eight years. A 1984 graduate of Colorado State University, Theresa made her way east to cover horse shows for Saddle Horse Report and found herself transplanted to Bowling Green when she married her husband, David. They have two daughters, a son-in-law and a brand new grandson. Theresa enjoys writing, crafts and serving in her church, Covenant Ministries Baptist Church.
Thomas Compton received his Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown College, Doctorate of Dental Medicine from UK and Master of Science and Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Buffalo. A Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, Dr. Compton maintains memberships with the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists and Pennyrile Dental Society. He is active in the community as a supporter of Alex’s Lemonade Stand and is a Board Member for Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Jane Coverdale has been the Librarian at T. C. Cherry Elementary for 13 years. She loves to read a wide variety of books to her students, and feels it is very important to continue sharing readalouds with older students. It is such a joy to see them appreciate and understand the humor in some of the wonderful retellings of familiar tales.
Dr. John Cowan is a graduate of NYU and Emory, and is board certified in dermatology. He has been practicing in Bowling Green since October 2008 and owns Bowling Green Dermatology and Skin Cancer Specialists located on Fairway Street. He and wife Amy have twin three-year-olds, Jack and Kate.
Drs. Brandon Crouch and Chantelle Crouch have a family chiropractic practice in Bowling Green, KY. They have been providing chiropractic care to their two boys since they were just a few hours old. Jessica Crump is a Western Kentucky University Dietetic Intern that graduated from WKU in December 2010. She’s just had her first child, Aniston Bree. Jessica lives in resident of Bowling Green and works full time (while working full time for her internship) at Hopkins Care and Rehab as a CNA.
Ron Cummings is the Owner/Broker of ERA Premier Realty Partners; president-elect of the Kiwanis Club of Bowling Green Ky and three-time chairman of the BB&T All American Soap Box Derby. Ron is a father of five children and one grandchild. His son Joshua finished third in the world at the 2010 All American Soap Box Championships in Akron.
Jessica Diame is a substance abuse prevention specialist for the Barren River region through Lifeskills. As a prevention specialist, she work with groups to combat illegal drug use, underage drinking and tobacco use through community level change. She has one child, Sira, who is 6 years old. When taking breaks from saving the world from self-destruction (aka weekends), she enjoy’s baking, reading, and making pretty things out of paper, but never all at once!!
Elizabeth Downing is a Bowling Green native and the Executive Director of Timesavers Concierge, Caregiving and Chauffeur, a relationship-based service providing non-medical in-home personal care, personal assistant services, transportation services, and a comprehensive referral network to help families deal with the aging process.
Sara Ferguson is the Recycling and Surplus Coordinator at Western Kentucky University. She is the mommy of two adorable dogs, Dorothy and Elphaba. In her spare time she is working on DIY projects from Pinterest for her upcoming fall wedding to her wonderful fiancé Taylor and practicing her sign language skills for an ASL certificate.

Brittany Fisher has a love for planning anything and everything. This led her to a career as an Urban Planner in Elizabethtown. She is a graduate of WKU and most recently UofL (don’t hold that against her, she swears she’ll never be a Cards fan). She and her husband are blessed with an energetic and precocious son. The family also strives for thriftiness whenever possible.
Laura Lee Fleming is former Brand Manager of Banana Boat Sunscreen. She is a native of Scottsville and currently resides in Atlanta, GA where she served as Brand Manager for Angel Soft and currently works for Rubbermaid as a Brand Manager for the Goody Hair Products line.
Liz Fogle is host of WBKO’s Mom’s Everyday, airing on WBKO-ABC at 9:45 a.m. and 4:10 p.m., and on WBKO-FOX at 12:15 p.m. She also writes a weekly blog for Moms Everyday. Liz and husband Ben live in Bowling Green with their 4 year old daughter Lily.
Ashley Fowlkes is the Assistant Director at Warren County Public Library. She loves to read, as do her three children, ages 4, 7, and 13. Graduate school brought her husband and her to Kentucky; they have called Bowling Green home since 1998.
Lee Fowlkes is a husband and the father of three bright, active children. In his spare time he works as the Kentucky Coordinator for Bethany Christian Services. He is a self proclaimed coffee snob and loves to bake, which makes him very popular at church potlucks.
Zakk Gammon is the Owensboro Bureau Chief for Eyewitness News (WEHT Local/Local 7 WTVW) in Evansville, IN. Formerly he worked at WBKO-TV in Bowling Green. His professional experience includes work at WXIX-TV in Cincinnati, OH and KFVS-TV in Cape Girardeau, MO. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, writing, and simply spending time with his family. He’s a graduate of Allen County-Scottsville High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication. Zakk, his wife Blaire and two daughters Briley and Haven live in Owensboro.
Laura Gilbert started her love of interiors and gifts at Werner-Lowe as a floor sales/wrapper/bank goer extrodenaire. After working there through college, she opened up On the Dot in The Pines and after being open 4 years, she found herself solely in houses day after day and didn’t see the point of a retail space. In 2013, she juggles, billboards, advertising, and interiors along with her soon to be 5 year old son, Garrard.
Tara Arnold Griffith is the Library Media Specialist at W.R. McNeill Elementary School. She is also President Elect for the Kentucky School Media Association. Tara is involved with the Warren County Jaycees and is in charge of the SOKY Fair pageants.
Jon Hale is the Cash, Credit and Sales Specialist for WKU Restaurant and Catering. He enjoys spending time with his family and making hand crafted wooden ink pens for Hale’s Pen Shop. He is married to Renee, the librarian at Warren Elementary School. Leslie enjoys math, science, coin collecting and hiking at Lost River Cave. Their son, Logan, enjoys super heroes, science, math, and helping his father make ink pens.
Lori Hansbrough has been a personal trainer for over 12 years. She was recently voted best trainer of Bowling Green for 2011and has been certified in the new science of Life Coaching for two years. Life coaching encompasses all aspects of healthy living for individuals and families. It includes nutrition, exercise and lifestyle improvement. is originally from Hopkinsville, Kentucky and graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. He has been practicing in Bowling Green since 1997 and is married to Cathy, an oncologist. They have three children: Kyle, Rachel and Erin – all students at St. Joseph School.

Ginny Hensley is the Director of Alumni Programming at Western Kentucky University. She and her husband, Drew, live in Bowling Green with their two children; Reed, age 8 and Hope, age 5.
Jenn Hewett owns and teaches at the Montessori School of Bowling Green on State Street. She and husband, Kevin, are originally from Canada but have called Bowling Green home for the past eight years. They are the proud parents of Jethro, a black Lab.
Heather Higgins is a Bowling Green native who is the “parent” to two shelter dogs. She has worked at and volunteered for several non-profit organizations in the community. Currently, she is coordinating social media for Stakz Self-Serve Frozen Yogurt shop.
Gail Hiles works for the Kentucky Association for Gifted Education within The Center for Gifted Studies at WKU. She loves sports, art, her dog Sally and most of all, her sons Scott and Ryan.
Michael Houchens is the IT Manager at Farmers National Bank. He attended WKU and has worked in IT for 15 years. He is married with two children and enjoys reading.
Michelle Howell of Bowling Green is a doula, homeschooler, mother of four and member of BabyNet, a network of pregnancy, birth and childhood professionals serving the South Central Kentucky area. Their mission is to protect and support families through education about preconception, pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, breastfeeding and parenting to ensure the best chance for a full-term pregnancy and healthy baby.
Richard Hunt is the owner of Mathnasium of Bowling Green and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in chemistry and a minor in math from WKU. He has additional graduate hours in math and is a WKU math instructor teaching developmental algebra. Richard has been in Quality Engineering for close to 10 years with multiple certifications utilizing advanced probability and statistical methods. Richard is a veteran and served as a Military Policeman.
Romanza Johnson is a certified home economist, is a retired teacher and home economist in business. She is a native of Scottsville. Presently she serves as President of the Warren County Retired Teachers, Kentucky Democrat Women and retired Senior Volunteer program. During the years she has been involved in many organizations and projects as a volunteer working to make our community a better place to live.
Courtney Jones is a senior at Western Kentucky University. She is pursuing a major in Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition. Courtney is hoping to attain a career in the sport medicine field.
Wendy Keith is the wife of Gerald Keith and mom to Lili, age 10 and Elliott, age 7. She is the Office Manager at Chaney’s Dairy Barn where she was worked since 2008 and enjoys creating event posters and advertisements. In her spare time, she likes spending time with her family, reading and antique-ing.
Erin Klarer has been with KHEAA and KHESLC for eight years and now serves as Vice President of Government Relations. She received a BA from EKU and a Masters of Public Administration from UofL. She lives in Louisville with her husband, Jon, 8 month old son William, Dax the ferret and Wendy the dog.
C. Denise Lambrianou is the Coordinator for the Family Enrichment Center-Adoption Resource Program. The Adoption Resource Program is funded in part by a grant from the Cabinet of Health and Family Services, Department of Protection and Permanency. Denise and her husband Michael have been married for 12 years. 15 beautiful individuals have come into their lives as foster children; 4 of those children made them a family.
Cameron Huddleston Lebedinsky is a contributing editor for Kiplinger.com. She lives in downtown Bowling Green with her husband Alex and their two daughters, Maya and Zoe. She is a graduate of Washington and Lee University andearned her Master of Arts in Journalism from American University.
Clinton Lewis is the University Staff Photographer at WKU and a very active husband and father of three teenagers. In addition to being a leader with the scout troop, he is a fanatical hiker, rock climber, kayaker and Hilltopper fan.
Kristie Lowry is the Literary Outreach Coordinator for WKU Libraries. She has four children ranging in age from 22 to 11, and she will become a grandmother to twin girls this summer. Kristie’s untidy home is typically filled with people and books, and she decided long ago to call cooking a hobby so that she can pretend she has one.
Martha Madison is a graduate of WKU and the University of South Florida. In 1966 she established Dance Arts and serves as owner, principal teacher and artistic director.
Alecia Marcum is beginning her 24th year with Warren County schools where she is the School Media Librarian at Natcher Elementary. Mrs. Marcum received an award for Exemplary Library Service for Children and Young Adults in 1998 and in 2009 received the Outstanding School Media Librarian Award in Kentucky. She is married to Steve Marcum and they have three children. One of her favorite things to do is to meet and work with authors and loves sharing her love of literature with the students at Natcher Elementary.
Sharon McCubbins is the librarian at Cumberland Trace Elementary. She has been a school librarian for 13 years, 10 of those years at Cumberland Trace. She loves introducing kids to fabulous new books and using books to cheer up grumpy kids!

Audrey Meany is a 1987 graduate of WKU, has been married to Joe for 24 years, and is the proud mother of 3 teenagers- Anna (19), Sarah(15) and Sam (13). A full-time Independent Sales Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics, Audrey’s desire is to help fulfill the company’s mission to ‘Enrich Women’s Lives’ while helping them look and feel their best. She is a volunteer with the BG Area Chamber of Commerce, Family Enrichment Center, and Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and a member of Christian Networking Professionals and BG Networking Women.
Jaclyn Melcher is a Film Major at Western Kentucky University. She loves all types of movies, and is fascinated with animation. Jaclyn hopes to one day work in the movie industry, making animated films for Pixar. She’s also involved with fair trade, and enjoy learning about environmental issues.
Riley Miller is an 18 year old senior at Greenwood High School. She has been coordinating Alex’s Lemonade Stands in Bowling Green for seven years. Riley enjoys sports, music, acting, writing, and hanging out with friends.
Allison Millett been teaching fitness classes and personal training in the Bowling Green area for 13 years and enjoys helping others reach their health and fitness goals. She is also a wife and mother of two.

Chelsea Napier is a recent graduate of Western Kentucky University, majoring in Nutrition and Dietetics. She is currently doing her internship through WKU as well.
David Nuckols has made physical fitness and healthy living a lifelong quest. He is the owner of a local fitness studio in Bowling Green. He holds a M.S. in Exercise Science from WKU and has been certified by the American College of Sports Medicine.
Hannah Ogden has been working with children for 10 years, first at the public library and then as a school librarian at Parker-Bennett-Elementary School. Most of her hobbies go hand-in-hand with the librarian stereotype…she loves to knit, putter in the garden, and of course, read. She does not, however, own a cat. She and her husband Stephen are expecting their first child this summer!

Matt Pedigo is an Allen County-Scottsville High School and WKU graduate. He is the editor of The Citizen-Times in Scottsville. Matt is married to Kathy Pedigo and father of two daughter, Shawnda and Madison.
Susan Hallawell Raby began drawing and painting at age 5. She graduated with a BA and MA from WKU and has taught in public schools in Kentucky and Tennessee for 36 years. She enjoys painting and drawing, gardening, reading and watching her granddaughter grow up. She is now semi-retired and living in Allen County where she teaches private art classes to children and adults.

Nicole Randall is Marketing Director at Dinosaur World in Cave City, Kentucky. She also serves as Secretary for Caveland Marketing Association and is on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Travel Industry Association. Nicole and husband Chris have one awesome 6 year old son, Ryne, a Warren County Inline Hockey League Player and a North Jackson Elementary Baseball player.
Julie Ransdell, a former teacher, is the mother of two sons- Patrick and Matthew Ransdell. She is the proud grandmother of Walker, son of Patrick and wife, Brooke. Julie is an alumna of Western Kentucky University where her husband, Gary Ransdell is the president.
Jeffrey Reed founded Orchestra Kentucky in 2000. Known for his unorthodox method of combining classical and popular music on the same program, Reed has overseen a one-thousand percent increase in subscriptions since Orchestra Kentucky’s inaugural. He, his wife, Dr. Sherryl Reed, and two children, Mary Grace and Harrison, make their home in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Samantha Reed is currently a dietetic intern through Western Kentucky University. She also completed her undergraduate degree in dietetics at WKU in 2011. She has been married to her loving husband, Joe for almost three years. Together, they have a sweet little girl named Kate. Once becoming a Registered Dietitian, Samantha hopes to find a job working with children in the field of dietetics.
Roiann Ridley is the mother of three grown sons and two grandsons. She earned a degree from WKU in Small Business Management and studied in London with Kenneth Turner, renowned floral designer. Roiann credits colleague Joe Smith of Ilex in Nashville for her style, and she only buys from farms that practice sustainability and pay a living wage. Meg Rodgers has been a hairdresser at Off Broadway for 12 years. She is a Kuene color specialist trained at the Kuene Academy in Atlanta. Meg travels to Chicago, Atlanta and other cities every year to broaden her expertise and bring the latest styles back to Bowling Green.
Tony Rose is host of SAM100.7′s Morning Show. Tony is a great supporter of the community, sponsoring “Stuff the Bus” each July and participating in a number of other community endeavors. Delaire Rowe lives in Bowling Green with her daughter, mother and pet dog. She is also a practicing artist. Her artwork has been exhibited throughout the state, nationally and internationally for the past 30 years. Delaire earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Indiana University and a Master of Fine Arts from Brooklyn College, City University of New York. She has worked as an Artist-in-Residence for the Kentucky Arts Council and taught art courses in the Department of Art at Western Kentucky University.
Andee Rudloff is excited to return to her hometown as the Education Director for the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center (SKyPAC). She has served as the community relations manager at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts and curator of the Nashville International Airport in Nashville, Tenn., while continuing a career as a professional visual artist. Andee serves on the board of directors for the Kentucky Arts Council and recently facilitated the Recliner to 5k training program at TraxRunning.
Eileen Ryan is the admissions counselor for the Honors College at Western Kentucky University. During her time as a student in the Honors College, she studied English and journalism and spent an amazing semester at Harlaxton College in Grantham, England, living in a 19th century manor house and reading British poetry. After graduation in 2010, she taught ESL for a year in Cheonan, Korea with a Fulbright grant. Eileen enjoys yoga, hiking, and spending time with her sweetheart schipperke mix, Reba. Laura Sanders has taught Kindergarten 14 years. She is married to Steve Sanders and has two sons, Will, 10 and Sam, 6. Laura likes to read and travel. Melinda Riedel has been a teacher 28 years, is married to Bill Riedel, has a son, Stephan, and a daughter, Stephanie, a leukemia survivor. Melinda loves to exercise, read, shop, and go to the beach. Her best friend is her twin sister Margaret.
Jeftie Sawyer is the owner of the Wild Bird and Nature Store and Pet Nanny business on Lehman Avenue in Bowling Green, Kentucky along with her husband, Gerry. She is an enthusiastic birder, gardener and hiker.
Beth Schaeffer is a preschool consultant for the Warren County Public Schools. She has worked with young children and teachers for over 20 years. She and her husband Jim are the parents of ten-year-old Grace.
Ada Travelsted Skillern grew up in Bowling Green and was a member of Warren Central High School’s class of 1991. She graduated from the University of the South (Sewanee) in 1994. Ada has taught English at Bowling Green High School since 1996 alongside her husband, Ron, who teaches history. They have one daughter, Elizabeth.
Bob Skipper, a volunteer firefighter for more than 25 years, is chief of the Woodburn Volunteer Fire Department.
Jessica Snodgrass is a local Bowling Green artist who was recently appointed President of Artworks, Inc. Jessica is the Administrative Assistant at The Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center (SKyPAC) and the Artist in Residence at The Gallery at 916.
Dr. Debra Sowell, a pediatrician at the Graves Gilbert Clinic, is a Bowling Green High School and Western Kentucky University alum who received her medical degree at the University of Kentucky. Debra has two grandsons. She enjoys needlework and watching BGHS, WKU and UK sporting events.

Fonda Walker is a Social Services Clinician I who has worked for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services for 17 years. Fonda works on the Recruitment and Certification Unit in Warren County. She enjoys spending time with her family, husband, Larry and two children, Katie, age six and Brady, age three. In her spare time, she enjoys catching up with friends and extended family members. Morgan Watson is the host of WNKY’s Bowling Green Today. She is a graduate of WKU where she majored in Broadcast Journalism. She is married to Eric and has a three-year-old son, Eli.
Dee Dee Webb has been teaching eight years. She received a BS in Middle Grades Education and Master’s of Library Science at WKU. Dee Dee is an avid history buff and enjoys reading historical fiction, historical nonfiction, and new release best sellers. Besides reading, in her spare time she enjoys learning about new technology, and spending time with her husband of 18 years, her 4-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son.
Mari Whitlow is an 8 year resident of the Bowling Green area – a transplant from St. Louis, Missouri. Her love of the Warren County area developed into a commitment to volunteer work and partnership with two other women in Bowling Green, (Elisabeth Fielder-Hix and Karla Andrew), to start the Kentucky Savings Group, which is the parent to BG Couponers, BG Yard Sales and Poor House Princess websites and Bowling Green Savings on Facebook. Their focus is to help the community save money by using coupons and practical family savings. Much emphasis is paid to community involvement and volunteer work.
Shawn Whitsell is a Nashville-based freelance journalist, activist, spoken word artist, writer, actor, producer and director. He is the founder of the Destiny Theatre Experience and Focused Dreams Films, and an organizer for the Shades of Black Theatre Festival. He is the father of a beautiful five-yearold little girl by the name of Destiny.
Grecia Wilson, RN, BSN serves as the District Health Coordinator for Warren County Public Schools. A native of Scottsville and a graduate of WKU, she enjoys working with children of all ages. She and her family live in Warren County, KY.

Brittany Young is the Warren County, Family and Consumer Science Agent. Her program focuses on the areas or food and nutrition, financial management, nurturing and building strong families. She also serves as an advisor to the Warren County Extension Homemakers Association. Brittany began her Family and Consumer Science career as the SNAP Education Assistant which led to her passion for serving others and the community through researched based education. Brittany considers herself to be a blessed wife to her high school sweetheart and an adoring mother to the fluffiest and cutest goldendoodle puppy.
Betty Yu is the Assistant Director for Confucius Institute at WKU and an Ed.D. student at WKU. Betty is the proud mother of Jonathan, Meghan, Teaghan and Reaghan Chen. Betty Yu is married to Dr. Dennis Chen, professor at Belmont University.
Lieutenant Brett Zalla is the Commander of the Fourth District of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Law Enforcement Division. Brett and his wife Kerry have two children, Lucy and Lincoln.
